Dave passed away in Melbourne in March 2010 and was brought back to Christchurch for his funeral, which was attended by many well known musicians.  Dave was best known as drummer for the Librettos.

TRIBUTES

I was at school with Dave in 1958.  We had some fun.  Vale Dave. - Ted Reid

Dave was the youngest of the Librettos. He came up from Christchurch to join us and we were very pleased to have such a fine energetic young drummer. He played on Let's Go and all of our HMV recordings.
After we went to Australia we were all very sad when he decided to quit and return to NZ after a short time.
I didn't see or talk to him again for several decades after that but we had a wonderful re-union gig at Lower Hutt in 1997, although Brian Peacock couldn't make it,  and a great re-union dinner in Melbourne with all 4 NZ Librettos in 2004. Dave was a successful businessman by then and it is a shame that he gave up drumming for such a long period of his life.
Vale Dave! - Rod Stone
