Photos & Memorabilia - Underdogs, Auckland 60's and 70's Reunions

I started gigging when I was 12.  In March 1963, I caught the bus (alone) from Waitara to Hamilton to see Louis Armstrong & The AllStars play at the Founder's Theatre, where I went backstage and got autographs from Louis Armstrong and the rest of the band!  The Waikato Times has published an article about this show - click here to view

..............I was a member of top professional New Zealand bands in the mid 1960s to the early '70s.... Le Frame, Breakaways, Underdogs, Hamul...before leaving the NZ & Australian music scene in the early 70s to pursue my own importing wholesale ventures...until the mid '90s when music legend & genius Arthur Lee of top LA band LOVE asked me to become his business advisor.

This I did until a year before Arthur Lee sadly passed on in August 2006.  I was still based in NZ but had many trips to the US helping Arthur during this time.

While doing this I started composing music again & have recorded 3 CDs of my material plus almost finished another 3 CDs which I hope to finish & release before the year's out.

Arthur Lee left a huge music legacy & went out on a great high after very successful tours of Britain, Europe & the US during the last few years of his highly publicised controversial life.  He was constantly featured in top music mags such as Mojo, Q, Record Collector, Rolling Stone, NME, LA Weekly, LA Times plus constant newspaper mentions across the UK, UK & Europe.

Although he was not too well known to the general public here in NZ, his admirers & fans included the likes of Jimi Hendrix, who was his best friend, Jim Morrison, Robert Plant, Oasis, The Beatles, Red Hot Chillie Peppers, James Brown, Little Richard, Lenny Kravitz, Alice Cooper, The Damned, The Stranglers & many top groups of today especially in the UK where he is still considered a superstar.

My song writing took a more serious turn after much encouragement from Arthur.

My websites with 6 of my recorded compositions each (12 total) & many photos of top NZ, Oz, US & UK musicians each are on:
