TRIBUTES

Murray McNab was one of the worlds true Gentlemen.  He was also an inspirational and accomplished pianist & musician.  A great jazz writer and arranger and on the odd occasion a colourful conductor.  One of the saddest things we all have to face as we grow older is the regular passing of our music mates.  To lose Murray, when creatively still in his prime is devastating to not only the jazz aficionados of this world but also to we former pop stars now regarded as aged rockers.  Murray's passion was Jazz but he was also a very significant player in the lives of many of the pop and rock artists of New Zealand.  You would always get the wry smile from Murray whenever one erred but he was also quick to be tell you when you nailed it.  We have lost another music giant with his passing and I am genuinely sad I cannot be at his farewell today.  However as they lay Murray to rest at Northcote this afternoon I will be thinking of him with sincere fondness.  Rest in peace Murray and until we meet again give all our love to that growing band of Kiwi musicians in that big band in the heavens.  With love to you and your family doy. - Larry Morris
Very sad to hear the news of Murray McNabb 's passing.... I have fond memories of Murray's wonderful sense of humour while working with him on the odd Murray Grindley ads, let alone his amazing musicality...RIP - Barry Leef
